I was originally going to type this weeks ago; after about 6 games into the season. Didn't have time.
Now that we're about 12 games into the season, it seems like the Dream have gotten better, but I'm still not watching.
-----
I could not wait for the 2026 WNBA season to start, especially after how amazing 2026 Unrivaled was!
I was elated of course, to hear that Angel Reese was going to Atlanta; and I love me some Rhyne Howard; plus with Jordin Canada (and I know a few others are slipping my memory) I felt they were going to be a powerhouse, plus their off court chemistry and everything.
After watching 3 games, man they had me raging! Throwing the ball...where? To the audience?
I only read on respectful subreddits that are fine for my mental health, and chile some people were like,
"Did they put butter on the basketball or something?"
I'm like, right!! I mean, what? The missed lay ups, the missed everythings, the too many 3's. On reddit they say the coach will bench them if they don't take as many wide open 3's as they can, something crazy like that.
Just a mess.
When I would see one Atlanta Dream player with the ball and she's just looking around...like she just trapped or something...and then does a bad pass to the next chick who turns it over and just on and on;
and sometimes if a player managed to hold on to the ball, she'd miss the shot.
Now at the very beginning of the season they did have 2 miracle comebacks; I don't think those games aired.
Watching the entire games...I was like, man, chile I was getting so mad I was like you bitches better play, practice, score...something!
The best in the world! How are you playing like this.
So I just decided to step all the way back; they were making me too angry.
Then add in the officiating; and sad injuries like Rekia Jackson, and Dominique Molonga...
Trying to watch some other teams; I wouldn't even know some of the players on the teams.
So watching some other teams, as I had originally planned to record and watch every game I could, those games were also very boring during this time.
Looking like amateurs. And I guess some of the crowds were dead for that reason, and sometimes the commentators are boring too.
It just takes a combination of factors; but I don't know what was going on but too many of the teams have been playing horrendous.
Thank goodness for Olivia Miles!
And come on Flau'Jae!
Alright, as it gets closer to playoffs I'll start checking in and I definitely plan to watch the playoffs.
Let's check back in in a few months and hope these women are playing up to their potential!

[Update August 1, 2026]
Things have gotten a lot better. The Atlanta Dream are actually playing basketball now.
The rest of the games, also look like normal games and not this deadness and confusion going on in the beginning of the season, as well as good crowds and decent announcers.
The refs are still insanely incompetent though.

I just watched Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky; and while I hate the Sky organization, don't like that coach etc, I like the players (except those who didn't speak up for Angel Reese) but many of these players are new to the team so they have nothing to do with that.
So I was neutral at first but as time went on I saw how much heart and grit Chicago were playing with, and it was just as overall amazing high quality basketball; and they kept talking about Sydney Taylor being undrafted and making amazing moves, and all this, just so interesting.
So I started rooting for her and Chicago.
With 3 seconds left, Chicago Sky was down by 2. I didn't think the Sky had a chance to make a 3 pointer with this amount of time especially since Vegas is the stronger team...
But Sydney Taylor made the 3 🏀🏀🏀
Won the game at the buzzer!!
Wow. I thoroughly enjoyed that and I'm so glad I got to witness it; and I cherish it.
