I'm a season behind, so I'm on season 4. Last year I was so depressed and despondent I could not enjoy anything. That's why I started keeping up with My Healing Journey & thankfully I am back to myself which still means that I do not like TV, which is why I was so skeptical to even watch Abbott Elementary when it first started, but I was thankful to be wrong about my assumptions and it's a little nice to watch something that's not 30 plus years old. Because that's typically what I watch, shows that are really old and of course, this means I've seen them a million times.

As I type this I am watching The Jeffersons, which started in the 1970s. And, earlier tonight I watched The Golden Girls.

So while new shows are different and typically not what I like, new doesn't have to mean bad

Positive TV: Abbott Elementary is Head of the Class - Healing & Halos

[update 2026]
I haven't watched the past few seasons. Only seasons 1 and 2 were honoring Black children.
I thought the shift would come after the 12 episodes of Season 1, but they did put another season in there with a few episodes humanizing Black children.
After that, it's just turned into the same ole' same ole' same ole
It is absurd to expect anything beautiful from this industry, so this is all actually on point, on pattern.
Get that beauty in other sources of life: nothing can stop that. I can find that beauty, it's within me.
And nothing about Hollywood, social media, society etc can write out what's inside of me and my wonderful, Black childhood past.
