Of course I knew who he was from his college days, but when I saw that quote I remember me and some other cute, funny online women going, "Okay so who does he play for? Oh, the Eagles? Okay so I'm an Eagles fan now! 🦅🦅lol
Well those were my exact thoughts. I didn't watch any games though, because I didn't want to root for him so hard and he ends up losing. I'm so tired of being on the losing side of so many things in this crazy world.
Then finding out his girlfriend is Black!! (now fiancée)
I was like Lord I hope this man does good & wins the Superbowl one day. I would occasionally ask my husband how he was doing.
Since I never saw him being hyped in commercials and all that, even though I didn't know football I could still tell he was being ignored or downplayed by the media and other football people but I stayed off his socials and stayed away from any dialogue because...to keep it simple and short, I hate hateful people. Always got something to say about situations that ain't got nothing to do with them! As if they are anything special on their jobs, hell even in a junkyard these people ain't special.
So I'm glad I avoided unnecessary content about Jalen & thus this feels so sweet for me as I don't have as much baggage as I usually have when athletes I like get their shine/glory and comeback.
So I'm actually sitting here watching the parade, first I ever watched a Superbowl victory parade (I thought there was going to be bands lol), but I'm watching because Jalen loves Black women!! And I was on this guy I just learned about, Devonta's page and I loved seeing his Black wife and daughter!!! I was just beaming from ear to ear "awe look at that sweet baby"
Warms my heart to see Black families and Black men loving full Black women and having Black children.
When Jalen was talking after the win, I couldn't hear nothing he was saying cause I was like Lord please let his fiancée get on that field and hug him before the camera pans away. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssssssssssseeeeeeee Lord.
This is a rare moment in history and I absolutely need to see this full Black lady Bry Burrows, loved by her Black man on the biggest stage in the world. I love any Black love, but when it's on the biggest stage in the world, I breathe a sigh of relief because it's almost nil and there's no justification in the world as to why those men choose the partners they usually choose
So that night I replayed their kiss over and over and over....chile, sooooooooooooooooo happy, cherishing this historical moment and global display of Black love.

Furthermore, they could not have beat a better team to make this victory even sweeter. OMG just sooooooo happy all around, finally to be on the winning side. Last year I totally didn't want to watch the game but I was trying not to be aparty pooper. When I saw Travis Kelce yelled at his coach like that I was triggered and even more disgusted that he didn't get criticized by the media, NFL, teammates, coaches, and average citizens who love to pick apart every fiber for ummm, anyone who looks like me.
It's just maddening, I was searching online over and over trying to find some resemblance of criticism, knowing if he was Black they would have been replaying it even to this day.
So this is why I typically stay....away.
But even staying away, I still knew about all the Taylor Swift crap, tramp rooting for the thank goodness LOSING team, Mahomes wife being a tramp supporter, just ugh ugh ugh.
My God this victory is sooooooooooooooooooo sweet. If Mahomes wasn't married to a tramp...supporter, I would have felt a little tad sympathy for him like how I do when college kids lose even if I wanted them to lose, I'd feel a little bad for the players....but naw, Mahomes married to that thang & then the other comments he made about tramp attenting the game, baby chile, this is actually how election night should have went, I'm totally thrilled.
But I didn't lick my tongue at him though. When they showed Kelce on the screen when they were losing, I would lick my tongue and go niy nah niy nah niy nah too you and Taylor both.
So I didn't watch at first, I took a nap and asked my husband to wake me up for halftime. I was trying to avoid the score but saw 0-24 and kept staring and my husband was like "Yeah you are seeing that right."
Then when it was 6-40 I really wanted the score to stay that way. When they scored those 2 other touchdowns I was like "See it's me, I'm bringing bad luck" but naw it was too late for my bad luck to matter lol. But, it was explained to me that the Eagles' defense backups were in so that's why Chiefs were able to score those back to back touchdowns
Looooooooooooooooooooooooove this experience so much!!!!!!!
It's just that...
A big challenge for me is....why in the world do I keep calling Jalen Hurts Jalen Rose!!🌹🌹🌹lol
Alright this parade is still on and I'm looking forward to the speeches
