Well...when we went to the Christmas Parade in 2022 Joe drove, got a good parking spot and we stood right in the middle of the action.
Joe was out of town today so it was Moonflower and me.
Got a good parking spot amazingly, but man wow, when it came to choosing somewhere to stand, I chose a normal looking spot that looked like it would be a part of the action.
It was crowded, and apparently none of us in those sections knew what we were doing because this was mistakenly at the end of the parade route 😄😂😂
The floats were just flying by and the bands stopped playing 😂😂In fact the bands disbanded slightly before they got to our section.
When I saw the first band stop marching and then turn the corner and not come down by us, I was thinking "I hope they're just tired or something."
Then the lady next to me (was not talking to me) but I heard her say, "There goes another band."
Leaving us. 😂😄
Then I realized that the float-riders are not even technically considering us on the parade route, especially since the bands were leaving.
Moonflower asked if we could move down further closer to the action and we did. But it was right at a corner and wasn't too much better but it's the farthest down we could go because it just wasn't much space at all.
After some minutes there, I told her to let me know if she's ready and after sometime of the floats stopping and other long gaps, she was ready to go.
Well at least everything went safe. Safety is my #1 concern. Safe, peaceful, no arguments and so on.
I told her we'll make up for it during Mardi Gras in a few weeks/months
We had a blast at Mardi Gras earlier this year:
Black Guy on Float Threw Beads Only to Me
At least the Christmas Parade was still safe and peaceful, and with lots of laughs. We'll always look back on this and laugh. And when we were walking back to the car, when you turn the corner there were more barricades and people standing there looking pitiful. I told Moonflower well at least we didn't stand in this section 😂😂
